PHOTO SHOOT @ BRIGHTEST YOUNG THINGS: SPEED DATING w/ARTISTS

On Monday, July 19, AAC and the Pink Line Project teamed up to host a SPEED DATING w/ARTISTS event at POSTE. The event was sponsored by SCION, and featured twenty contemporary artists, all ready to answer the questions of a curious public. Prospective "dates" were given three minutes to talk to each of the artists; additionally, each art-curious potential patron was given a word or phrase that related to only one of the artists present.

RESIDENT ARTIST JENNY MULLINS AWARDED A FULBRIGHT

Jenny Mullins has been awarded a Fulbright to India in the field of painting to study the effects of Westernization on Indian traditional and fine art. Throughout her project, Courting Influence: Indian Art Then and Now, she plans to conduct interviews with local artists while developing a body of small, transportable drawings based on her research.

In summer 2009, the AAC formed a partnership with the Centro Arte para la Paz in Suchitoto, El Salvador; CVS/Caremark; and VSA arts, a non-profit based in Washington DC, to present an international exchange project for teenagers.
