Agri Interior: Pam Rogers and Radio Sebastian

{Agri Interior}: New Works by Pam Rogers and Radio Sebastian

June 29 - October 13, 2013
Opening reception Saturday, July 13, 6 - 9 pm

This mixed media exhibit explores dual realities through ruptures in the intersection of the built and natural worlds. AAC Resident Artist Pam Rogers and Radio Sebastian first showed together at Hillyer Art Space, where they both had solo exhibits in August of 2010. Since then, they have each traveled and exhibited across the country but their paths have continued to cross. Their travels have both included--albeit at different times--stays at the artist residencies Weir Farm, Ucross, and Brush Creek. Rogers has also had shows and residencies ranging from Illinois to Atlanta, while Radio has been to spaces spanning North Carolina to New Mexico.

They now return to exhibit together in Arlington for a two-person show incorporating their experiences into artwork. Their materials range from traditional media to plants and plant-based dyes to rubber, polymer clay, and wallpaper. Flowers burst through walls while human experience becomes tangled in networks of vines and branches; passages grow between presence and memory. Rogers and Radio question familiar reality and ask us to look at what lurks beneath--whether it delights or makes us eerily uncomfortable.
