Arlington Arts Center’s Curators Spotlight features 4 rising curators and 23 contemporary artists. This year’s emerging curators are Kayleigh Bryant-Greenwell,
Betsy Johnson, Katy Scarlett, and Ann Tarantino, and like the inaugural show, Instigate. Activate.|new curators, new ideas, each curator will be responsible for presenting a group exhibition, showcasing the artists and themes of their choice. In this way, four independent shows make up the Curators Spotlight exhibition.
As a result, audiences will experience fresh perspectives, new artists, and a variety of curatorial voices that represent interests ranging from the body and issues around gender and the internet to the politics and poetics of water and the role of labor in artistic production.
There’s no doubt that the internet plays a huge role in today’s society. Click Here sets out to explore the effect the internet has on society. Eight artists came together to design an exhibit that collectively shows how the digital world can create a false reality, using themes ranging from online dating profiles to our obsession with social media.

Kayleigh Bryant-Greenwell is an independent curator and writer, and the public programs coordinator at the National Museum of Women in the Arts, where she is building an initiative focused on women, arts, and social change. She holds a BA in Art History from the University of Maryland, College Park, and an MA in Museum Studies from the George Washington University.
