Whew! Summer camps just ended at AAC last month, and fall has officially been here for a couple of weeks now. We finally got out of the classroom and are ready to share some of the awesome moments our campers experienced this summer!

Campers explored all aspects of art making through fun and unique projects. Camps, classes, and workshops at AAC usually start with a technique or a theme, and is the platform from which our instructors drop serious art knowledge. While we focus on fundamentals, we also encourage experimentation.

Taking the building blocks of art and stacking them upside down and sideways creates new perspectives, and we want our students to come away feeling like art is something they can do, that it belongs to them, and will always be a part of them.

Fundamentals of Drawing (Ages 11 – 14)

Teen campers learn the fundamentals of drawing through the application of collage and mixed media!

Into the Third Dimension (Ages 7 – 10)

Campers aged 7-10 explore the Third Dimension by creating sculptural projects with simple materials like plaster, sticks, and paint

Strange Landscapes (Ages 4 – 6 & 7 – 10)

AAC’s campers get to learn directly from the art on display in our galleries! This summer they discovered Strange Landscapes in and out of the classroom.

These are just a few examples of the awesome projects, experiences, and skills our campers learn at AAC every year! Students come here to not just color and draw, but to create and experience the excitement of inventing something from newly learned techniques, ideas, and processes.

Ok, just because summer is over, doesn’t mean the fun has to end! We’ve got a great fall schedule (for kids and adults) just around the corner!
